Excuses, Excuses, Excuses...

As you  may know, I decided to do Finish it Up Friday along with the Shopping Sherpa...well I have flaked on two of the four Fridays...but I do have a couple of excuses.

The first one being that I have had a few nice custom orders that I have been working on and have now finished.

The second is this:
This is what I did this Friday...and a little of Saturday.  I stenciled the one accent wall.  I tried to live with plain white, but I just don't think I am capable of doing white walls.  I got the stencil from OMG Stencils on Etsy.

The artwork is by Linda Tillman on Etsy.

The kitchen is officially finished with the exception of reupholstering the Heywood Wakefield dining chairs.  I found the perfect fabric, but it's too expensive to let get trashed by kids and dogs, so I will have to keep looking.  As you can see, my RL taste and my mini taste are a lot alike.

Here are a couple of before pictures:

A bit of a change, no?  I couldn't be happier about how it turned out! Now, back to miniatures again!

  1. It's the spirit of Finish it off Friday that's important: if you beat yourself up at this early stage because you've missed a couple then you might end up giving up completely. Which would be a pity. :-)

The kitchen looks great! Are the chairs the sort that have pads that pop out? If so, you might like to think about using tea towels stapled on to recover them. Cheap. Easy to find, and when they get dirty you can just unstaple them, pop them through the wash and reattach them :-)

    1. Not beating myself up...Stenciling the wall would technically be a Finish it up Friday.

  3. OMG it's GORGEOUS!!!!! And so is the mini room!!!! And THANK YOU for posting your "before" pix of your mini room so the rest of us know we're not alone in the chaos. I just choked on my soda laughing so hard at the wood glued to the floor. LOLOL. It all looks fantastic. Congrats on many jobs well done!

  6. Nice place you've got there! It's just as cheerful and inviting as your mini settings.

My work schedule is all over the place, so when I can't finish a project or task on Friday, I just try to squeeze it in when I do have a day off. The biggest problem with any stalled project is that I am usually waiting on supplies!
