Ok, let me express how much I DON'T like going to Wal Mart...as a matter of fact I LOATHE it! As I'm guessing is true with most Wal Mart stores, the one closest to me is dirty, unorganized and the employees as well as the shoppers are rude. There is however one Wal Mart that I have been to that is clean, organized and the shoppers and employees are both pleasant. It's in Houghton, Michigan which was a small copper mining town back in the day. I digress...
There are two redeeming qualities of Wal Mart...The first is really isn't redeeming at all, but it's pretty funny! That is People of Wal Mart.com , you get to see things like this:
Package of dowel rods $.97, 100 tiny zip lock bags $.97, gargantuan sized hot glue sticks $4.47, fat quarters $.97 each and 1/2 yard each 11 different fabrics-none cost more than $2.74.
I bought more than I entended, but the peace of mind that I won't have to go to Wal Mart for a long time?...... Priceless.

And this...
Seriously? Is this acceptable to be out in public?
If you haven't seen the web site, I suggest that you check it out. You will laugh your ass off!
The second and most likely the only real redeeming quality of Wal Mart is that they have a great selection of small printed fabric and great prices on some craft items to use for miniatures.
I have to be in a really good mood to go to Wal Mart because if I'm not, I will surely get pissed off and leave. (I've done it before). Yesterday...I went to Wal Mart!

Guess I'm going to Walmart soon. :D They also carry the resin water I use...and I often buy three packages so I won't have to go there again for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I hate going to Walmart. It's so close I can see it down at the bottom of the hill in the winter. I still hate going there!
ReplyDeleteThey do have a nice craft section but you have to walk past a lot of "other" things to get there!
I didn't know Walmart carried resin water, but I do know that it does have a good craft section. Knock on wood, the Walmart I go to is still clean, and nice to shop in, (except for the very large gun department which gives me the creeps).
ReplyDeleteYeah. I'm not a fan of Walmart either, but we don't have a lot of them out in the San Francisco Bay. I shop at Target mostly--which I enjoy--especially early in the morning before other people mess up the pretty shelves--ha ha! You scored some great fabric finds, man!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny!! I am not a big fan of going to Walmart. If I do go - I try to go very very early. Looks like I am due to go check out the material now!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go for a visit to your Walmart (LOL)! Oh my goodness, do they "sell" children too I see :D! And that yellow thingy??? gorgeous, but not really. I understand what you mean, but to comfort you...........your purchases are great ;)!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Ilona
Yeah, Wal-Mart in and out as quickly as possible. I love the material, though. Great haul.
ReplyDeleteUmm wow. Those are some really cool fabrics and great prices. The last time I was at walmart was buying a dresser for my kids. Best price around and it surprisingly has actually held up for the last 6 years (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Baby-Mod/6005173). You are tempting me to give it another whirl. :D
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I can't stand the parking lots at Wal Mart! I've gone and changed my mind about going in because the walk was too far. But, they do have some great finds and I must admit that I've spent many hours in that store! Those are some cool fabric finds!
