Just In Time

I'm doing this at the last minute as usual, but I entered the MinisModernas contest....this morning.  The deadline is posted as June 1st. The funny thing is that when I woke up this morning, I thought today was June 1st.  I thought I was entering it late and it wouldn't count.  It just dawned on me that today is May 31st.  Whew!!!!

The red chairs are Reac, the coffee table is Kaleidoscope House, the round table and pillows are AG Minis, The rug is a Matisse post card, the flooring is a bamboo place mat, the book case and sofa are made by me, the accessories are hobby store finds, re-ment and Modern Mini Houses

What Ever Happened to Ethics and Doing What is Right?

Recently a fellow miniturist has been royally screwed over by the Saco River Auction Company in Maine.  She puchased a dollhouse and for some reason, they decided not to send it to her. They refunded her money and gave her a gift certificate.  She is going through a rough time and is having chemo therapy. Some of you may have seen her blog Susan's Mini Houses. 

You can get the details of what is going on at My Realitty's blog.  The point of all of this is morals.  The auction company should do what is right, which is to reinstate her purchase of this dollhouse.

A Wonderful Gift

Recently (ok not that recently, I have had these for a few weeks now) I received a very thoughtful gift from my friend Megan of Modern Mini Houses aka: Mini Dork. If you haven't seen her blog, you have to check it out!

She made these sculptures and pillow.

She made these great little sculputres from beads.

I added a couple of the junky to funky pieces that I painted not long ago. 

She made these fab pillows with fabric she had made at Spoonflower Fabrics. Ollipoppies has some wonderful mini fabrics to choose from too.  Megan based the design of the fabrics on ones hat I had used in the Atomic Bungalow.  Aren't the colors great?

It' a miniature modern hanging bubble chair.  I have improved it a little by adding "chrome" trim around the edge.  It also comes with hanging hardware.  I'm showing it with a silver cushion like a real one, but I can make the cushion in other colors too.
