As some of you have probably gathered by now, Christmas isn't my favorite holiday. I do like Christmas, what I don't like is the comercialism and the pressure to buy stuff for people that they don't want or need just to buy something. I do also love seeing Christmas through my kids eyes and having family traditions with them. One of which is watching the movie "A Christmas Story". Those of you who are familiar with it will appreciate this.
This is my favorite tree. It was my grandfather's and it's the same age as I am!
Merry Christmas and in the spirit of Jerry Seinfeld,Happy Festivus! Truly wishing you all good things!
A Happy New Year to you from far away!

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Brae!
DeleteBwahahahah, love the leg lamp! I love your Grandfather's tree, so cool you still have it in such great condition. Happy Festivus to you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The lamp is an ornament.
DeleteOh, and Merry Christmas!
DeleteGracias, Carmen y tu!
ReplyDeleteI always loved that lamp. Happy 'Festivus' and have a very happy and prosperous New Year.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you - I feel exactly the same way about Christmas. That is the BEST Christmas movie ever! Still so funny and relevant.
ReplyDeleteI am commenting long past Christmas( Feb 2013) but I feel a lot like you do. I'm in retail sales in my real life and the pressure from the top down is both heavy and relentless. However, I keep my eyes fixed on the 'reason for the season' (Jesus) and try not to become overwhelmed by it all. I find it interesting that your Grandfather's tinsel tree is right back in style again. That is sooo vintage, and very pricey if you were to buy it in the stores now. Just goes to show that if you wait long enough everything eventually comes back around. As for 'A Christmas Story'; I'm with you, that NEVER looses its appeal!
